All staff engaged in the programme will be fully Disclosure Scotland checked and approved. We are offering schools, 4 sessions for 2 classes between 1pm and 3pm on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. The 4 week block will enable the school to allow two weeks of one class having access to players between 2pm and 3pm with the other class enjoying the same access over the following two weeks. By operating in this manner it will give each class the opportunity to meet and have access to our players. Additionally at the end of the coaching block the children will receive complimentary tickets from the players to see a Greenock Morton game. The classes kick off next week and Tony Judd will be contacting the other Inverclyde Schools over the next few weeks to arrange bookings. If, however, your school is keen to get in first and obtain session times please contact the Club on 01475 723571 Ext 22.We are very serious about developing football in Inverclyde and delighted to be able to bring our players to the schools. It is hoped that this direct link for the children to the professional players will act as an inspiration for young male and female players to pursue an active involvement in the sport throughout their lives. Ton Fans’ Board place in doubt http://morton.nsdesign4.net/News/ I was most concerned reading last night’s article in the Greenock Telegraph that I felt duty bound to clarify the situation surrounding Jim McColl’s resignation from the Board.Jim advised me recently that after seven years as a Morton Director he felt that he should be spending more time with his family and as a result wished to tender his resignation at the AGM in December. He asked that this should remain confidential which I duly agreed to. However, at the end of last week I received a call from the Greenock Telegraph requesting clarification as they had heard about Jim’s resignation and unconfirmed reports that a reappointed from the Trust was unlikely. I advised that the matter would be getting discussed at the next Board Meeting as we were considering making a change.Greenock Morton was one of the first Clubs to have a Supporters Representative on the Board which we felt was an extremely positive step forward considering the previous tensions between Club and Supporters. This view has not changed! While Jim’s involvement has been a great success, it has only been a link to Supporters who were members of the Supporters Trust! As there are many Morton supporters who are not members of the Trust, we feel that consideration should be given to perhaps widening this representation which will be discussed in greater detail at the next Board Meeting.Douglas RaeChairman.
